- COURSE DESCRIPTION:
- This is a 10th grade course in "World History". We will emphasize a 20th century, multicultural perspective and view the content from social, economic, cultural and political positions. Attention will be directed towards democratic themes throughout the course. Areas such as current events will also be incorporated to develop a better understanding of how the past is connected to the present.
SEMESTER 1- Starts with "Rise of Democratic Ideas"
ie. Classical Greece and Rome. We finish up with British
Industrialization and European Imperialism.
SEMESTER 2- Goes from WWI to the present. A 20th Century
focus.
- PREREQUISITE:
1) Laptop Access with the required specifications
2) Access to the Internet (World Wide Web)
3) Personal email address
4) World History Textbook "Connections To Today"by
Prentice Hall

- DETAILS:
- * Type name, email address, date, and semester 1 or 2 in upper right hand corner of all papers. Also type assignment title (and chapter#, section#, pg. # if applicable) on all papers.
* It is recommended to save printed hard copies of your work as personal evidence of your accomplished assignments.
- * Laptop Students will use one email address for
the single purpose of submitting their work and communicating
with the instructor. The selection of one email address will
make communication much more efficient for both the student and
the teacher.

- CHAT ROOMS & MESSAGE BOARDS:
- These electronic rooms are for the benefit of World History Students. It is to be used for the single purpose of assisting students in relating to content and course issues only! Any other use of these rooms is prohibited!

- PLAGIARISM:
- Work that is submitted and is not your own will result in
the following disciplinary action. The student will receive a
zero on the assignment and also risks removal from the course.
A second time results in automatic removal from the course. A
writing sample will be on file for each student in the course.
GRADING:
- * Grading consists of a combination of projects, activities, research, formal essays, journal assignments, quizzes, exams, etc..
* Final Exam is comprehensive (will cover the entire semester).
Grading Scale
100-90%=A
89-80%=B
79-70%=C
69-60%=D
59% or below=F
